Antiques & Collectables Valuation Roadshow at the Hunt Museum
Sunday 4th February 2018 12pm to 4pm
An Antiques and Collectables Valuation day will take place in the Hunt Museum on Sunday 4th February from 12pm to 4pm. Experts from the Irish Antique Dealers Association and others will be available to shed light on items of Silver, Glass Porcelain, Clocks, Jewellery, Pictures, Furniture, Books and any other treasures you wish to know about. Entry fee is €5 for one item and €10 for two or more.
The most unsuspecting items can be of value, so the Museum is encouraging people to root in their houses and bring items for valuation and identification. If it is impossible to bring an item, a photograph can be brought instead.
At previous Roadshows many interesting items were discovered much to the delight of the owners. They included an original George III document referring to the Freedom of Dublin granted to a member of the Brinsley Sheridan family. Many pieces of jewellery were brought including a 2 carat diamond cushion cut ring which was worth a considerable sum of money. In silver some Limerick silver spoons by Thomas Walsh were found. Pottery and porcelain was brought in quantities and some interesting pieces of Dublin Delft and pieces by Donovan of Dublin.
Come along and join in the fun. Take this opportunity to bring along a family heirloom, or something you picked up at a fair or car boot sale perhaps, and have one of our experts value it for you
