Culture Night 2017 will take place on Friday September 22nd from 5pm-11pm.
Culture Night comprises hundreds of events across the island of Ireland as they open their doors to host a programme of free late-night entertainment, as part of an all-island celebration of arts, heritage and culture. Now in its thirteenth year, Culture Night returns in 2017 with its biggest programme to date.
The Hunt Museum will have yet another vibrant programme of events this year. All of the following events for Culture Night are free, however as places are limited tickets will be allocated on a first-come, first-served basis. Tickets are available at The Hunt Museum on Fri 22 Sept from 5pm, no pre-booking available.
Drop in Arts and Crafts -18:00 – 20:00 – Education Wing
Explore your creative side with drop in arts and crafts in The Hunt Museums education wing.
Storytellers Chair with Darren Shan – 18:00 – 19:00 – The Captains’ Room
Join us in the Captains’ Room of The Hunt Museum for storytelling with author Darren Shan from 6pm – 7pm.
Nevsail Watersports are glad to be offering free activities again on Culture Night 2017 from 6 pm
Offering: Kayaking, Stand Up Paddle Boarding, Sailing, Boat Trips & Tours
Times: 6 pm – 7 pm (Day Tour), 7 pm – 8 pm (Sunset Tour), 8 pm – 9 pm (Night Tour), 9 pm – 10 pm (Night Tour)
All that participants need to bring with them are a pair of old runners, swim wear/togs and a towel.
They will also have plenty of dry land activities, such as Archery and Team Challenges, our new Limerick City Treasure Hunts and much more.
Limerick Literary Festival occupy Storytellers Chair – 19:30 – 21:00 – The Captains’ Room

Explore highlights of The Hunt Museums collection with one of our expert guides. Learn about the history of these unique artefacts from the collection in these 10 minute talks as they focus in on the history of these artefacts.
Yeats & Henry Exhibition Tours – 19:30 , 20:30 & 21:30 – Exhibition Gallery
Join us for guided tours of our unique exhibition by two of Ireland’s most important 20th century artists, entitled Jack B. Yeats and Paul Henry: Contrasting Visions of Ireland. The exhibition features 51 works, bringing together paintings drawn from private and public collections many of which are normally unavailable for public viewing.

Vinyl and Vine with Nick Woulfe – 19:00 – 20:00 – The Hunt Café

Comhaltas Ceoltóirí Éireann Seisiún – 21:00 – 23:00 – The Hunt Café
The Hunt Museum warmly welcomes Comhaltas Ceoltóirí Éireann to captivate us with song, dance storytelling and traditional Irish music. Comhaltas Ceoltóirí Éireann is the largest group involved in the preservation and promotion of traditional Irish music.
