2009 Switch to a Calendar Year Period of Membership
Historically, membership has been maintained on a rolling, anniversary basis, that is, the date an individual joined the Friends was used as the renewal date for membership dues purposes. In order to more effectively manage membership, the Council has decided to move to a calendar year membership (i.e., January 1 to December 31) beginning in 2009.
We are making the move to calendar year memberships because:
· It will help us to cut down on the expenses that are involved in sending out renewal notices;
· It puts all memberships under the same renewal cycle, thus making it easier to calculate current membership levels and plan for the future.
This change affects those who pay by cash, cheque, or credit card. It does not affect payments which are made by standing order.
We ask all friends to check their membership cards.
If your card is out of date or falls for renewal in the next few months, please send in your membership as soon as possible. If your membership falls due later in the year, you can pay for the rest of the year on a proportional basis. You can contact the Friends office at 061-312960 for more information.
Renewals from 1st January 2010 will be on a calendar year basis. |
