The facilities of the museum may be hired outside our normal opening
hours. The museum is an excellent venue for evening entertainment,
receptions, functions and launches. We offer bespoke packages - everything
from lecture facilities to receptions, private tours and dinner parties.

Families
The Hunt Museum Treasure Trail is available to all children visiting
the Museum. This is an ideal way for families to explore the Collection
together.

| Guided
Tours |
During
a visit to the museum you can choose to explore the collection by
yourself or take one of our regular guided tours.
There is no extra
charge for tours. Tours take approximately one hour and vary according
to the guide. The tour can be a Highlights tour or for (pre-booked
groups) explore a theme or focus on particular areas or objects from
the exhibition. During a Highlights tour our expert guides will explore
the Hunt Collection and the lives of the collectors. You can view
the art of Picasso, Renoir and Yeats, stunning works from medieval
times and examine weapons and tools from the Celtic period. Also included
is a visit to our Jewellery Gallery, to view the Mary Queen of Scots
Cross, and to the Treasury, to see the Greek coin reputed to be "one
of the thirty pieces of silver" paid to Judas for the betrayal of
Christ.
Those that choose to explore the exhibition unguided can discuss the
artefacts on an informal basis with our Docent guides who are available
in the galleries.

Limerick is the Irish Republics
third largest city, and is one of Irelands leading tourist
and business centres, with a rich and varied history. The city
is magnificently sited on one of Europe's finest rivers, the
River Shannon. Its castles, ancient walls and museums are testament
to its dramatic past.
Limerick City is an excellent centre for shopping. It has also
gained a reputation for dining and the city has its own 'Good
Food Circle' of restaurants. The city is also considered to
be the sporting capital of Ireland with excellent facilities
and passionate followers of all sporting activities. Limerick
is an excellent holiday base and is just 30 minutes from Shannon

Access by Air - Shannon Airport
Shannon International Airport is 20 minutes from the museum and
there are daily scheduled flights on a year round basis from most
European capitals and the USA.
During May to September, and in certain cases April to October,
there are charter flights operating directly to Shannon from
several cities in Germany, France, Holland, Belgium, Spain, Switzerland,
Austria, Denmark and Norway.
Access by Sea
A wide range of sea ferry services operate to Ireland.
Rail
Limerick City's Colbert Station, fifteen minutes' walk from The
Hunt Museum, forms part of the mainline rail network. The approximate
journey time by train between Limerick and Dublin is , and Limerick-Cork is 1.5 hours. Details are available at the station on the day
of travel or in advance by calling the Regional Office in Limerick.
