The Hunt Museum Liberal Arts course is a twice-yearly series of lectures which look a wide range of topics such as the decorative arts, archaeology, heritage and culture. The course is renowned for the high quality of its lectures, and we strive to invite a mix of well-known speakers as well as up-and-coming scholars, from a range of different disciplines.
This spring’s course will look at the development of Irish Art in the 20th century. From Jack B. Yeats’ phantasmagorical scenes to Norah McGuinness’ modernism and beyond, and from painting and sculpture to stained glass, this course will place Irish art in its European context and will explore the work of some of the great artists and movements of the 20th century.
