Tactile Explorations – CPD arts workshop for Early Years practitioners with Eilis Murphy

Saturday, October 14th, 10am to 4pm

This workshop will introduce participants to art & crafts techniques relating to printing and the creation of large scale wool artwork. In line with the Síolta and Aistear frameworks, great emphasis will be placed on experimentation, idea generation and theme development so that these creative activities can be planned and implemented in an early years setting.

Cost: €45 per person (includes materials)

Wednesday 27th September 2017, 10am – 3pm 

This day of seminars will be of interest to Early Years practitioners and students who wish to explore the museum context as an alternative setting for creative play, learning and discovery for children under five.

10am to 10.30am – Registration, tea/coffee 

10.30am to 11.00am:  Collette Brownlee, Education Services Officer at the Irish Linen Centre & Lisburn Museum 

11.00am to 11.30am: Sarah Carson, Collections Access Officer at Coleraine Museum  

11.30am to 12pm: Shirin Murphy of Carrickfergus Museum

12pm – 1pm:  Lunch is provided. 

1pm to 1.45pm:Lucy McDonald, Curator of the Early Years and Families Programme at Tate Modern and Tate Britain

1.45pm to 2.30pm: Maria Cagney of The Hunt Museum 

2.30pm to 3pm: Summing up session
