The Hunt Museum offers discounted, engaging guided gallery visits of the permanent collection and special exhibitions for classes from FE colleges and universities.

These seminar-style discussions are led by Museum staff and can be specifically designed to enhance professors’ curricula. Through close observation and guided discussion, students explore art, history, world cultures or museology.

Opportunities are also available to develop collaborative projects culminating in online and gallery-based exhibitions and installations.

ENQUIRE NOW

The Enquiring Classroom

In May 2017, a day long induction training workshop for The Enquiring Classroom (TEC) Erasmus + Cooperation programme was jointly delivered at The Hunt Museum by Dr. Patricia Kieran (Department of Learning, Society and Religious Education), Mary Immaculate College and  Prof.  Aislinn O’Donnell, Maynooth University School of Education (NUIM). This programme aims to facilitate innovation and the exchange of good practices Strategic Partnerships for school education.  Other programme partners include Sodertörn (Sweden) and Ellinogermaniki Agogi (Greece).

Participants in this training included  policy makers, practitioners, community workers and  academics. During it  they responded to and worked with particular objects in the Hunt Museum’s collection and used them as a stimulus to introduce ideas from philosophical enquiry and dialogical approaches to religions and beliefs. The Enquiring Classroom (TEC) develops an innovative model of enquiry based learning in order to facilitate meaningful, open, responsible, and respectful discussion and debate about complex ethical, social and religious issues in classrooms. Its novelty stems from its integration of best practice in philosophy for/with children, experiential and interpretative approaches to education about religions , beliefs and ethics, and creative arts based methodologies.

In April 2018, The Enquiring  Classroom programme  will be delivering another training workshop at The Hunt Museum.
