The Gallery can be booked for either day time or night time use. It accommodates up to 130 for a lecture or 150 for a reception-type function.

Dining

Enjoy the ambience of the elegant Captain's Room in the surroundings of Irish ware and Chinese porcelain. This room is available for seminars, receptions and dinners. It is highly suitable for corporate hospitality. Seasonal menus are available. The room accommodates 50 people at dinner and up to 75 buffet-style. Room hire (further details available from the Museum) of the Captain's Room does not include the cost of catering.

The Library is available for private dining functions (maximum capacity 17people). It provides a discreet environment whereby customers can entertain guests in privacy. Overlooking the Shannon, this booklined room, which houses the John Hunt Library, is a unique dining venue in the City Centre. Seasonal menus are available.

Cafe

Cafe seats 70 people for dinner or can cater for a buffet of 120 people.
The restaurant is open to the public during the day. After 6 pm a room hire charge applies for the use of the restaurant (please contact the Museum for details).

Further Information

Rooms can be rearranged to suit your requirements (except for fixed exhibition cases). All rooms are wheelchair accessible by lift.

Please contact the Museum for catering arrangements, sample menus are available on request. Musical requirements can also be discussed.

In the first instance, please contact the Museum for availability of rooms or to make an appointment to view a room. If you decide to proceed with a booking at that stage, please complete and forward forms to the Museum as confirmation. The booking form should be received by the Museum at least 4 weeks before the event with a deposit (10% of full cost).


All prices quoted are exclusive of VAT at 21% (or whichever VAT rate applies at the time). Rooms that are cancelled within 24 hours before the event will be invoiced for the full amount.
