‘Beds, Not Benches’ – Limerick School of Art and Design Inaugural Art Exhibition in Support of Mid-West Simon.
The LSAD student-led group ‘Be Sound’ has decided to hold an exhibition of their own work along with art pieces that have been donated by some of the rising stars among the School’s alumni in support of the work of Mid-West Simon.
Organisers Cha Cahill, Sean McGuill and Gavin Slattery say that they decided to hold this event as homelessness was a core factor leading to the development of their group which deals with social issues. They have decided to use this mechanism to provide an opportunity for the public to invest in not only up and coming artists’ work, but also a rare chance to pick up some unique pieces from artists of all disciplines
The exhibition will be held at the Hunt Museum starting on the week beginning December 14th with the auction in the Captain’s Room on Thursday 17th at 7.00pm. James Greenslade, Acting Head of LSAD, will be there to welcome everyone who would like to come along on the night. Bill Hanly of Hanly Donnellan Auctioneers be on hand on the night to ensure the smooth running of the sale.
Everyone is welcome to come along on the night and admission is free. You may enjoy a glass of mulled wine and mince pies to help them get into the spirit of the Christmas season. And maybe you might find that special Christmas gift for someone – and who knows, you may even purchase a future masterpiece.
