The Hunt Museum in conjunction with MidWest Simon Community has been working with a group of talented amateur artists who link in with their service. In association with the Simon Community the Hunt Museum sought to engage with an audience who were not frequent users of the museum. From early group discussions the theme of homelessness at Christmas time was chosen as the subject which would inspire the work created.
Coming to the theme with first-hand experience the group created beautiful and moving pieces with speak to their experiences of homeless at this difficult time of year. A time of year that for most people brings joy, rest and over indulgence, but for those affected by homelessness can bring hardship and stress. The exhibition serves as a point of reflection for all of us going about our everyday lives.
