On display are twelve garments designed and made by students of the BA (Hons) in Fashion Design at Limerick School of Art and Design – Limerick Institute of Technology (LSAD-LIT). The students took their inspiration from uniforms and artefacts on display in the ‘Soldiers and Chiefs’ exhibition at Collins Barracks.
‘Stitches in Time’ is a response to the ‘Soldiers and Chiefs’ exhibition at The National Museum of Ireland, Collins Barracks. The twelve garments displayed explore Ireland’s military history through uniforms worn at different periods. Students from LSAD-LIT created pieces based on one of four themes: The Wild Geese, Word War I and World War II, and The Irish Defence Forces.
