Archival information

File of material relating to a seal with swivel handle. Includes photocopy of information card with photocopy of image of object (date unspecified); photocopy of letter in French (20 February 1984) from Andre Scufflaire, head of the Archives generales du Royaume, Brussels, to Timothy Wilson, Assistant Keeper, Department of Medieval and Later Antiquities, British Museum. Writes that he has examined the seal imprint. Writes that it probably dates from Renaissance times, based on the appearance of the characters used in the inscription. He does not have any information which might identify the person named on the inscription: 'Le seel de Iehan Plizet Sr de Bresiie.'
