Bronze Fibula or Brooch

Description

A large bronze fibula with a large curved pin and an irregular-shaped knobbed bow. Northern Italian.,A possible dragon or serpentine type brooch (fibula).The pin arches widely as two separate pieces, one from each side of the head. As they curve they join and become one creating an elongated pin which slots into an elongated clasp plate. The bow curves twice in a swan neck shape and has a row of 6 bosses, 3 on each side.
