Includes photocopy of object description sheet which includes sketch of object (date unspecified); transcription of label which described object in foundation building display (c. 1996); photocopy of Hunt Museum collection survey form (c. 6-7 March 1996); photocopy of extract from paper entitled 'The Hunt Museum' by Patrick F. Doran in the 'North Munster Antiquarian Journal (Studia in Memoriam John Hunt),' (Volume XX, 1978), which describes object; photocopy of extract from unidentified publication (date unspecified) which treats of tapestries; document (date unspecified) which lists published works dealing with tapestries; photocopy of article by William Wells entitled 'Tapestry with the Arms of Beaufort, Turenne and Comminges' published in 'Apollo' (c. February 1977); photocopy of facsimile (8 November 1996) from John Bermingham, Bermingham and Co. Insurance Brokers, 86 O Connell Street, Limerick, to Michael Holland, Registrar, Hunt Museum, relating to insurance for present object while in transit and at premises of a conservator; photocopy of letter (6 March 1995) from Ruth Waters (address withheld), to Lillias Mitchell. Writes that she has looked through papers she has which belonged to Evelyn Lyndsay. She cannot find any correspondence exchanged with John Hunt, Senior, but writes of her memories of tapestries Lyndsay worked on. Remembers one which was being repaired for Bunratty Castle, county Clare. Writers brother remembers travelling to Limerick with Lyndsay in the early 1970s to deliver a large tapestry. She presumes that this is the present object. Encloses photocopy of document which lists commissions worked on by Lyndsay during the period 1958-71.
