Irish Delftware Plate

Description

An Irish delftware circular plate. It is white with blue floral decoration in the centre and in six alternating floral panels, three of each design, around the rim. The underside has three, blue curvy lines around the foot rim.

Includes photocopy of object description sheet which includes sketch of object (date unspecified); photocopy of photograph of object (date unspecified); Hunt Museum collection survey form (date unspecified); photocopy of extract from notes made by Peter Francis (17 April 1996) which describe various objects in the Hunt Museum. In relation to present object, states that it was probably made in Dublin. Also suggests that it is similar in hue, quality of painting and style to HCL 046, and describes these objects as a pair of plates.
