Seal matrix
Description
A bronze, disc-shaped seal matrix. It shows a seated, crowned figure, dressed in long robes with a sceptre and the Hand of Justice and surrounded by fantastic animals. There is a Latin inscription around edge. The figure represents Charles V of France and was probably produced as a souvenir for royalists. Copy of a medieval original.
