A gold penannular, bar-twisted ring. The open ring tapers in at both ends. It is one of a set of three and is the second largest.

File of material relating to [three] interlocking gold bar-twisted rings. Includes photocopy of object description sheet which includes sketches of objects (date unspecified); photocopy of photographs of objects (date unspecified); extract from exhibition catalogue for 'Art Treasures in Thomond' held at Limerick Art Gallery (Limerick: Limerick Leader, 1952) which describes, 'A gold ring, with twisted body'; letter (5 November 1997) from Mary Cahill, Assistant Keeper, Ireland Antiquities Division, National Museum of Ireland, to Michael Holland, Registrar, Hunt Museum, requesting information about present object and similar objects as she is currently preparing a paper on hoards from county Cork. Present objects are possibly from county Cork; extract from 'The Ireland Times' (14 February 1998), fine arts and antiques section, which treats of an upcoming auction. Includes reference to and photograph of a Celtic gold 'ring money' piece. See also entry for HCA 425.
