Axehead

Description

A Neolithic tuff axehead, with asymmetrical faces, a curved asymmetrical edge and irregular butt. The sides are flattened on the left and rounded on the right. The edge is sharp except for two medium sized chips in the centre. The blade and faces are ground and polished and the butt partly ground. It has an oval cross-section. This axehead was found at Cahirguillamore, Co. Limerick.
