File of material relating to a pair of silver sauceboats. Includes photocopy of image of the objects (date unspecified). Also recorded on this is basic information about them, namely, title, medium and period. Attached is extract from document comprising comments made by a docent (name withheld), Hunt Museum (31 July 1995), on various objects in the Hunt Museum. Describes present objects; invoice, and photocopy thereof (4 December 1958), issued by S.J. Phillips, 113 New Bond Street, London, to Gertrude Hunt, Drumleck, Baily, county Dublin, for £500 for present objects. They are described as a 'Pair antique German large sauceboats, with the crown and cypher of King Frederick Augustus III of Saxony, unmarked but by Schroedel Dresden, Circa 1760', copy of letter (24 June 2005) from Dorothy Redmond, researcher, Hunt Museum, to S.J. Phillips, questioning if the firm has any further records about present objects, reply (30 June 2005) from M.W. Bell, S.J. Phillips, states that they do not have any more information about these objects, photocopy of letter (9 December 1997) from Pippa Shirley, Metalwork, Silver and Jewellery Department, Victoria and Albert Museum, to Michael Holland, Registrar, Hunt Museum. Encloses photocopy of extract from a Sothebys in Zurich catalogue of sale in German dated 9 December 1997 which includes image and description of a pair of sauceboats which she thinks has similar mark to those in the Hunt Museum. Those in the enclosed catalogue of sale are from a service belonging to Frederick Augustus III, elector of Saxony, from the Dresden Hofsilberkammer, and date from 1789.
