Stone cup

Description

A stone cup with incised decoration on the rim and a handle on one side with a very small perforated opening. It may be a lamp. This bowl was found in Connor, Co. Antrim.

File of material relating to a stone cup. Includes photocopy of object description sheet which includes sketch (date unspecified). Records find details as Connor, county Antrim; photocopy of document comprising comments by Michael Ryan (3 December 1994) about various objects in the Hunt Museum. In relation to present object asks if it is a lamp; photocopy of extract from the 'Journal of the Royal Society of Antiquaries of Ireland' (Dublin, 1892) which comprises extract from article by William James Knowles entitled 'Recently Discovered Finds in the Co. Antrim.' Describes cup recently found at Connor.
