Axehead

Description

A bronze socketed axehead with one loop. The cutting edge is slightly splayed. There is a slight lip on the mouth of the socket which is slightly bevelled. The surface of the axe is criss-crossed by a series of parallel scratches with vertical scratches appearing on the cutting edge. The axehead was found in Comber, Co. Down, Ireland.
