Description

A ceramic figurine portion orange/brown in colour. The portion shows a head and upper body of a woman, wearing a head-dress, her arm is bent and her hand rests on her breast. It is likely that this figurine is of the the Aztec goddess Cihuacōātl. This figurine would have been hollow and would have contained small ceramic balls so that when shaken would act as a type of rattle, used in fertlity or birth rituals.
