Polished Stone Axe
Description
A green gabbro axehead with the faces having straight splayed sides, a curved asymmetrical edge, a rounded pointed butt and rounded sides. The edge is flattish worn and chipped. The axe is ground and the blade sides and faces polished with some pecking on the lower portions of the faces. The axe has an oval cross-section. ?Irish.
