This indexed ledger (A-Z) was used by the Customs and Excise Service to enter information under the following printed headings: Collection Number, Name of Importer, Whether an Accommodation Residence is maintained in Saorstát Éireann, Number of Triptyque or Carnet, Registration Number of Vehicle, Dates First Importation/ Final Exportation, Observations, Initials Clerical Officer/ Staff Officer, Description. A triptyque or carnet de passage en douane is a travel document for the purpose of the temporary importation of private road vehicles in order to avoid duty.
