Includes photocopy of information card with photocopy of image of object (date unspecified); two photocopies of extract from exhibition catalogue in German for 'Rhein und Maas, Kunst und Kultur 800-1400' held at the Schnutgen Museum, Cologne (c. 1973). Extract contains image and describes present object which was lent to the exhibition; photocopy of image of a Reiner von Huy corpus held by the Schnutgen Museum, Cologne (date unspecified); two photocopies of extract from publication by Peter Lasko, possibly 'Ars Sacro 800-1200' for 'Pelican History of Art' (Penguin, 1973). States that present object is an example 'of the strong and direct influence of the workshop of the Liege font exercised in the first half of the twelfth century'; photocopy of extract from exhibition catalogue in German, 'Die Zeit der Staufer' (Stuttgart, 1977) which contains description of similar object; paper by K.H. Usener, 'Reiner von Huy und seine Kunstlerische Nachfolge' (date unspecified). Enclosed in this paper are four images of corpus. It is not stated if any is of the present object; letter (8 May 1998) from Pauline Rushton, National Museums and Galleries on Merseyside, Liverpool Museum, to Michael Holland, Registrar, Hunt Museum, enclosing photocopies of relevant documents from archives of Doctor Philip Nelson, a Liverpool collector, in relation to present object and an altar bell (HCA 623). Documents relating to altar bell not present. Enclosures comprise photocopies of two different sources in Nelsons papers. Similar information about corpus recorded, for instance, 'Crucifix figure - School of Lige - Work of Reiner of Huy circ 1130 - From a Munich Collection (£30). This is one of the finest examples known. Sold.' Notes that published in 'The Antiquaries Journal' (volume XVIII, number 2, April 1938); extract, and photocopy of same, from this publication also present and describes the corpus; photocopy of notes (date unspecified) which describe this corpus and which state that the perezonium may be compared to the draperies shown on the bronze font from the Chapel of Notre Dame aux Font, Lige; extract, and photocopy of same, from exhibition catalogue for 'Art Treasures in Thomond' held at Limerick Art Gallery (Limerick: Limerick Leader, 1952) which comprises description of object; photocopy of exhibition catalogue for 'Romanesque Art c. 1050-1200 from Collections in Great Britain and Eire' (c. 1959) held at the City of Manchester Art Gallery. Contains description of present object which is exhibited; photocopy of letter (29 June 1959) from S.D. Cleveland, City of Manchester Art Galleries, Manchester, to John Hunt, Senior, Drumleck, Baily, county Dublin, in relation to arrangements to borrow present object as well as others for exhibition named above; two black and white photographs (c. 1959) which show present object and a group of similar objects as exhibited in Manchester; five black and white photographs of present object (c. dates unspecified).
