Design sketch, Autumn Leaves

Description

Sketch on board, with title "Autumn Leaves" written in pencil on front of the sketch. A full-length A-line skirt with a centre front seam which divides at mid-calf in an inverted Y shape. The collarless jacket has full-length set-in sleeves and the front fastening is not visible. The fabric of the jacket appears to be either crochet or possibly individually ruched "roses". A smaller sketch shows a dress with a skirt of similar shape to the main sketch skirt but without the inverted Y-shape seam. This dress is sleeveless and has a V-neckline with the centre front seam running straight from neck to hem. Winsor & Newton TH Saunders Board.
