Roman figurine
Description
A bloodstone figure of a man with his arms in front of his body, one hand clasped in the other. He is bearded and wearing loose, barbarian robes and has a gold band around his head. The piece is difficult to date, but is possibly from the late 4th century or early 5th century of the Christian era. The figure is with a later custom-made shagreen case which dates from the 17th century.
