Axehead

Description

The bottom portion of a brown/ red axehead, possibly in sandstone. The sides are parallel and rounded and the blade edge curved and asymmetrical. The blade sides and face are ground and polished. There is a clean break across the centre of the axe. The axe has an oval cross-section. This axehead was found at Cahirguillamore, Co. Limerick.
