Design sketch, Blackbird

Description

Sketch on board, with title "Blackbird" written in biro on back of the board. Annotation 'Brown & black plaid' written in pencil on front of the sketch. A knee-length belted coat with buttoned front fastened from the centre of the neck down towards the left hip. The full-length sleeves are set-in with a button at each cuff. The coat has a pointed collar and a welt pocket at each hip. A smaller sketch shows a knee-length collarless dress with a tie belt at the waist and short sleeves. Winsor & Newton Fashion Plate Board.
