Design sketch, Black Beauty

Description

Sketch on board, with title on back "Black Beauty". The annotation "Carrickmacross lace dress" is written in pencil. A three-quarter length dress with wrist length set-in sleeves. The bell sleeves are drawn as a lacy fabric with bow detailing.The bodice detail is seamed so as to appear like a bolero shape. The skirt falls in the front from this detailing. Design is similar to sketch "Gentle Atmosphere" (HM 1999.13.016).
