Stained-glass panel of angel with a trumpet

Description

A stained-glass panel of an angel in a long white flowing robe, blowing a trumpet. The figure is elongated, the wings green and the hands and feet flesh-coloured. The face is painted directly onto the glass. The blue background highlights the variations in depth of colour that are typical of early glass, held together in this instance by thin strips of grooved lead. This panel comes originally from the former Augustinian abbey of Bristol, now Bristol Cathedral.
