Porcelain dish

Description

A circular Chinese porcelain dish. It is decorated with blue floral decoration on a white background. It has a Kang-hsi mark. Kang-hsi (Kangxi) (1654-1722) was third emperor of the Manchu Qing dynasty (Emperor Ren).

File of material relating to a blue and white porcelain dish. Includes photocopy of information card with photocopy of image of object (date unspecified). Annotation in the hand of Michael Holland, Registrar, Hunt Museum, gives information conveyed about object by Peter Francis on 17 January 1996. He commented that this is the style of Kang Hsi, and its mark is on the dish, but this is probably a nineteenth-century copy. Describes decoration as 'window-box' pattern; Hunt Museum collection survey form (date unspecified).
