Silver pomander
Description
A silver pomander in the shape of a book. The front and back covers are hinged and the interior of the book is divided into four compartments. There is a suspension loop and ring at one end and a locking strap and stud at the side. The exterior of the covers are decorated with a scrolled foliage motif. In the interior of one of the covers, there is an inscription which reads: Amour Nous Joint et La Mort Nous Separt [Loves joins us but death will separate us].
