Jardinière
Description
A jardinière or plant holder made as a bust of a man in earthenware or faience. The man has long wavy hair and there is a hollow at the back of the head where a plant could be inserted. This object is a copy of a classical sculpture from the Uffizi in Florence titled 'Head of the so-called Dying Alexander' and dating from the late 2nd century B.C.
