Dublin tapestry

Description

A tapestry, possibly a practice piece, and one of a pair with HCL 020. The tapestry shows a man holding a tankard, empty and with the lid open. This figure may be Peeckelhaering from a painting by Frans Hals. The figure is framed with scrolled decoration. The weavers were probably apprentices to John van Beaver, a Fleming who executed the tapestries for the Irish House of Lords.
