Axehead
Description
A black/ brown shale axehead, with asymmetrical faces and the sides rounded in part and faceted in part. The butt is sloped and partly ground and the blade edge is gently curved and sharp. The butt, blade, sides and faces are polished. The axe has a narrow oval cross-section. This axehead was found at Cahirguillamore, Co. Limerick.
