Axehead
Description
A Neolithic shale axehead, with straight sides, parallel faces, gently curved symmetrical edge, oblique butt and flattened with almost faceted sides. The edge is sharp with one small flake on the left side. The blade area and faces are well ground with a moderate level of polish. The axe has a sub-rectangular cross-section. This axehead was found at Rusheen, Bruff, Co. Limerick.
