Dublin tapestry

Description

A tapestry possibly a practice piece and one of a pair with HCL 019. The tapestry shows a figure with pen in hand and peering to his left to read a book. The figure is framed with scrolled decoration. The weavers were probably Richard Pawlet or Daniel Reyley, apprentices to John van Beaver, a Fleming who executed the tapestries for the Irish House of Lords.
