The Arthur Cross

Description

The Arthur Cross is on display in the Museum on behalf of the Roman Catholic diocese of Limerick. This altar cross contained fragments of what was believed to be The True Cross, the double-armed form being traditional for such reliquary crosses. It is inscribed with the date 1625 and the name of the Limerick silversmith, Philip Lyles.
