Description

Interior black and white photograph of a model. On the back of the photograph in blue ink is written "Sybil Connolly NGI textile March 1954 Pleated white linen & Pewter - Grey Linen Skirt". There is a yellow post-it stuck to the back of the photograph on which is written "Vogue, March 15th 1951 P.122" in red ink, and "Pleated dinner blouse of fine white Irish linen and a pewter gray Irish linen skirt. Its hand embroidered panels after a detail of Georgian plasterwork Photographer Richard Dormer". The model is Anne Gunning. A different photograph of this dress appears in Madge Garland "Fashion" (1962), page 84.
