File of material relating to a cylindrical pot with lid. Includes photocopy of information card with photocopy of image of object (date unspecified); incomplete photocopy of letter (29 January 1996) from Peter Francis, Institute of Ireland Studies, Queens University, Belfast, to Mairead Dunlevy, National Museum of Ireland, and Michael Holland, Registrar, Hunt Museum, enclosing copy of notes (not present) he took when looking at the ceramics and glass display at the Hunt Museum. Does make some descriptive comments about the present object but writes that it needs to be looked at by another authority; manuscript notes by a docent (name withheld), Hunt Museum, describing the pot (date unspecified). Comments that marks suggest that this item was made in London in 1550 and that the makers mark is not known. Directs reader to 'Jackson 1964 edition p.80'; photocopy of letter (29 September 1998) from Timothy Schroder (address withheld) to Holland. Comments in relation to the present object that it has a good set of hallmarks which he would be pleased to identify. Probably date from '1550/60, although they probably belonged originally to a stoneware pot or possibly a glass vessel rather than the celadon pot they now live on.'
