Artist bio and Artwork statement
Ann Daly works primarily in creating seascapes working in oil on canvas.
Ann Daly from Limerick graduated in fine art from the College of Marketing and Design, Dublin in 1992. She worked as a member of Contact Studios from 2014-2017 and now works from her studio in the Atlantic Way Gallery, Liscannor, Clare, Ireland. She has exhibited both nationally and internationally with work in collections worldwide along with her work recently works featured in RTE drama ‘Smother’.
Ann is drawn to working with contrasts of dark and light referencing her own powerful images and childhood memories of the West of Ireland with emphasis on capturing the atmospheric light and fleeting moments the Atlantic weather dictates. She paints with thick impasto oil paint creating the desire to touch the ocean.
Ann is owner and founder of the Atlantic Way Gallery situated in Liscannor, Co. Clare on the Irish Wild Atlantic Way between the Lahinch and the Cliffs of Moher, Ireland.
