Artist Statement
I’m a local Limerick artist, born and bred.
I attended LSAD after school, studying ceramics but felt painting was more for me. Picking up a paintbrush when my children were small, I taught myself while also taking some art classes.
I started with portraits of actors, singers, interesting faces, movie scenes, then moving to animals, landscape and impressionist. Over the last 20 years, I’ve exhibited nationally and enjoyed art markets. I’ve discovered I enjoy figurative pieces, with movement, flow, wind and blue tones being my preferred colour.
I try to use the canvas to convey a story, some have hope, tenderness and sometimes kindness. I know I have many more ideas and concepts for future artwork. I hope this one appeals to some of you.
