Join us for a special event exploring the powerful stories woven into Cut From The Same Cloth, a handwoven tapestry that documents a unique community experience.

This event brings together voices from art, science, and minority communities to highlight the importance of inclusion in health research.
Speakers & Highlights:
Elaine Quinn (UCD Conway Institute) – Introducing the Patient Voice in Health Research initiative and the importance of amplifying minority voices that inspired this project.
Lorna Donlon (Artist & Tapestry Weaver) – Revealing the meaning behind the tapestry’s motifs, the intricate year-long weaving process, and how patterns in biomedical research can be reimagined as fabric.
Women from minority communities – sharing their fabric stories, reflections on the Get Together event at the Hunt Museum (April 2024), and the project’s impact on their Limerick community.
Joanna Drabinska (Biomedical Researcher) – Discussing her work on antibiotic resistance, her personal fabric story, and her experience engaging with local communities through this initiative.
Sara Dakir (Biomedical Researcher) – Discussing her work in pathology, her personal fabric story, and her experience engaging with local communities through this initiative.
