Willow Weaving / Heritage Week

Learn about, and even try your hand at the traditional craft of willow weaving. 

Willow can be woven and crafted into beautiful objects, a craft that has been practised for centuries. The native Irish willow plant also enhances biodiversity. Participants in the workshops will have the chance to make and take home a willow lantern or see practical demonstrations of weaving using willow and other natural materials. 

Willow is a key part of Ireland’s biodiversity, and visitors to the Hunt Museum’s garden will be able to see our living willow sculptures, representations of some of our iconic objects in our collection.
