About The Artist:

Angela Vaughan is an artist based in Limerick, working out of Spacecraft Studios.
She attained a degree in Fine Art from Limerick School of Art and Design (2013) and went on to do a Masters in socially engaged arts (MA Space, 2015).

In 2021, Angela’s abstract painting ‘The Word’ was acquired by Limerick City Gallery of Art for their permanent collection.

Today, Angela continues to create abstract paintings that are an intriguing dance between curiosity, exploration, and decision making – primarily in acrylic, mixed media and collage.
Her paintings are created intuitively and developed through layering. With the remnants of hidden history in each painting, Angela offers the viewer an invitation to explore the artwork on their own terms.

Themes of alternate realities, ‘other’ spaces, kingdoms and realms, synchronicity, the spiritual dimension, prayers or wishes, the mind’s journey, and the soul or ‘higher self’ are some of the many facets of her inspiration and thought process.

Angela has run several painting workshops, and is keen to explore the benefits of painting as a regular activity in the everyday as a creative tool to enhance life, and as a source to explore the self.
