‘This oil painting is part of a body of work – ‘About the Studio’ – begun in 2020, exploring Limerick’s Wickham Street Studios. Painted in situ, the painting captures my studio space, with its slightly chaotic nature, looking out onto the roof outside. My intention with this painting/body of work, is to capture the unique atmosphere and feeling of a working studio space, focusing on the structures, individual spaces and components of my own and other artists’ working methods’, Carl Doran, 2024.
