Deirdre Power graduated from LSAD with a NDAD in Painting in 1985. She continued her studies in Photography at Empire State College, SUNY in New York (1992-1995), where she lived from 1985, returning to Limerick in 2000. In 2012, she completed a Masters in Social Practice and the Creative Environment at LSAD. She has led various collaborative projects withs communities of interest. She has undertaken residencies at the McDowell Colony, New Hampshire, USA; the Tyrone Guthrie Centre, Monaghan; Nuuk, Greenland and Funchal, Madeira.
16 Roches St, built in 1839, functioned as a corn store and office space for over 100 years. It was also a dairy – machinery assembly plant and an electrical goods store. It is now home to Lumen Street Theatre. Through the Window responds to a space, seen through the lens of a once thriving industrial city.
