Artist bio and Artwork statement
Dressed in her traditional red wedding dress representing the change to a new era. Muna, comes from Sudan, a country that has suffered wars and gone through so many difficulties yet still hopes for a better future as indicated by her green emerald ring.
Behind her stands part of her silent historical roots, the famous Nubian pyramids of Meroe, constructed by the Kushite Kings around 2500 B.C.

Eyas Elhashmi is a Sudanese artist who has participated in painting and photography exhibitions since 2013. He was the Sudanese correspondent photographer for the Swedish / Sudanese ‘DAD’ exhibition. His interest is to paint classic paintings with a modern twist to highlight important issues.
