Kathy Tiernan

Originally from Kildare, and having chosen the long road to art as a profession, Kathy has crafted everything from fibre optic cables, medical devices, pizzas and shoes, in several different countries, before completing the circuit and deciding to paint full time in 2017. She co-founded ArtLimerick, whose aim is to provide a social network for creatives, this group has grown to almost 100 people from several different nationalities. She has displayed artwork at Limerick City Gallery, Hunt Museum, United Arts Club, Riverbank and has just completed a solo exhibition at Friars Gate Theatre in Kilmallock, Co. Limerick.

Calling her artwork ‘Simple Paintings for Complicated People’ would seem to be the perfect description for Kathy’s artwork.  There are no straight lines, no measurements and the colour just falls onto the paper or canvas. If this simplicity in a crowded world puts a smile on the reader’s face, that’s an art in itself.
